This is my 12.5 Newtonian on my Schaefer Mount before I converted it to "goto" using a Sidereal Technology servo drive. I was using an SBIG STV with a guide scope for autoguiding.
Barry Griener of D&G Optical was kind enough to let me use this prototype 8" f/4 Astrogragh they were considering producing. It is a great little scope. I took a lot of images though it.
I was lucky enough to have Dan Good lend me his AP 130 f/6 on occassion.
Here's my D&G f/9 APO refractor on my Schaefer 7 mount. This is the setup I was using when I went from film to CCD imaging.
This was a portable setup that I took to Australia in '96. The scope I built with a mirror made by Barry Griener (of D&G). With an Astro-Physics 400 mount it made a great system that I could pack up and take anywhere. An SBIG ST-4 autoguider sure made life easier.
I started astrophotagraphy with this setup in the mid '80's. A Pentax K-1000 is in the focuser. Manual guiding through a 60mm guide scope. What a challenge it was back then.
